There’s nowt as macabre as folk…Join London’s only ‘death drawing’ salon around the may pole as we mark the blossoming of summer with nude and costumed folk, flora and fauna. Explore English eccentricity, peculiar pagan ritual, monstrous morris men and get ready to scream on the green as we crown the May Queen. With a folk soundtrack and traditional English treats to eat on sale. Sacrifice an evening to the dark lord of drawing and create some wicked Wicker man style artwork.

We’re super excited to be taking the salons to The Other Art Fair @ Ambika P3 (5mins from Baker St station) for 3 events across the weekend, as part of this fantastic event showcasing and celebrating over 100 artists. As part of Cass Art’s pop up space within the event, come and create artwork inspired by the gothic Victorian imagery of Dan Hillier. Feat Coffee+Sponge, Sarina del Fuego and more, with feathers, skulls, flesh, bone, flora and fauna – a feast for the imagination at these fast-paced 1 hour sessions. VOODOO QUEENS
Want to get your lover back? First, you’ll need a lock of their hair…
Join London’s only death drawing salon for a macabre carnival of masquerade, magic and voodoo hoodoo. Conjuring up the spirit of New Orleans, the salon will feature nude and costumed characters, including the legendary Voodoo Queen performing her ritualistic dance with death. Create original sketches, as we try to trace the twisted roots of folklore, zombies and gris-gris back to Africa via Creole. Plus enjoy a macabre Mardi Gras, smokey jazz inspired soundtrack and carnival treats as you draw the gore.

SKULLYMPICS: BLOODY GAMES
On your marks, get set, draw! Don’t miss out on tickets to an alternative Olympics, deadly games special edition of the salon. In recognition of the virile virus of athleticism spreading across our city this summer, we present a cautionary tale on the perils of sport and the dangers of competition. There’ll be a whole team of Skullympics sporting legends to sketch; from the gruesome plight of Fatima Whitdead and her javelin, to zombie volleyball players, and little Tom Deadly in all his speedo-clad muscled, gorey glory. TUES 6 MARCH DEATH BECOMES HER @ CASS ART
Join us to celebrate the indomitable power and strength of women, ahead of International Women’s Day later that week, at a special salon. Featuring fierce femmes, real life roller derby players and their awesome alter-egos. Depict these wonder women in super-hero style and help create a giant comic strip, as they pose in derby action poses celebrating female athleticism and positive body image. With riot grrrl and deadly diva soundtracks & breast cupcakes from Love & Cake for sale.

TUES 3 APRIL DEATH BY CHOCOLATE @ CASS ART
Last year we had such fun with models feasting on chocolate fountains, that we decided to go back for a greedy second helping of this cake-fight Easter theme. Indulge your senses with a deluxe selection of models, posing both nude and costumed, in a twisted Willy Wonka-esque wonderland of sweet treats. Try painting with chocolate and Love & Cake will be on hand to provide tasty chocolate cakes, brownies and other treats to eat.

TUES 13 SEPT INTO THE FOREST @ CASS ART
Dare to venture into the depths of the forest and discover the wilder side of nature. As darkness falls, a macabre menagerie of creepy woodland creatures come out to play. Featuring crafty foxes, ravenous ravens and bad-ass badgers. Witness the revenge of Bambi, as the hunter becomes the hunted, plus woodland-inspired words, music and poetry.

TUES 11 OCT DEAD CLEVER: SCHOOLS OF SKULLS @ CASS ART

Report to the demon headmaster’s office and take part in the deadliest of detentions. Take your seat in an art class with a difference and get ready for drawing exercises, beastly bullies and terrifying teachers. Don’t forget to bring along your homework (a skull-faced self-portrait). There’ll be rewards for star pupils!

It’s a fight to the death as we go all Lucha Libre on your sorry asses…We’ve been wanting to do this for a while and we’ll be invading Resistance Gallery’s wrestling ring for a special salon of slamming, writhing, spandex-clad power posing action. TUES 8 NOV DAY OF THE DEAD: VIVA MEXICO! @ Cass Art
Exploring the traditions and rituals of Dia de los Muertos, join us to celebrate the living and the dead at a distinctively Mexican flavoured salon. Shrines and altars, sugar skull faced characters and colourful costumes. Indulge in sweet treats and chilli hot chocolate, as the heat and drama of Mexico comes to Cass Art.
