“This is one of if not the best workshop for kids in London. Spectacular. Tremendous” Parent attendee at our RA Families ‘The Great Brush Up’ workshop
Did you know that we run workshops for children, young people and families too? We love working with artists of all ages!
As well as specialising in adults-only nude theatrical drawing salons, we also offer costumed drawing workshops for children and young people to take part in! Our Art Macabre team has over 20 years of experience in designing and delivering participatory arts and creative programmes for children, young people and families. From spooky fairy tales, to friendly pirates and mermaids, superheroes to Ancient Egyptians…Art Macabre has a whole host of different characters to be sketched!

Nikki Shaill has worked in family arts programmes and workshop facilitation for over 12 years. As part of Southbank Centre’s Learning and Participation team, Nikki has produced many large scale festival events at Imagine Children’s Festival, Alchemy, Ether and more. She has programmed and produced family workshops for Artichoke,Thames Festival, Peckham Platform and Art in the Park. As an artist, she has led workshops at summer camps, nurseries, schools, with young offenders and with children who have complex learning and behavioural difficulties. Sessions can be developed to respond to any theme and tie in to exhibition or festival programmes. Our team of costumed characters will facilitate a dynamic, imaginative and unique drawing experience that will feature narrative, music, costumes, puppets (on request) and most importantly lots of interactive, participatory drawing fun!
Sometimes we like to involve children and young people in the tableaux and allow them to try their hand at posing and becoming part of the scene to be drawn too, or we’ll lead young drawing participants around a space on a drawing trail and allow them to encounter inspiring stories, sights, scenes and sounds to inspire them to create artwork. We love working with artists of all ages!
